The Importance of the farewell dram
Most of my tours involve small numbers, a family or group of friends and this really gives the opportunity for close relationships to be formed very quickly. I always want my clients (friends) to feel at the end of the experience that a friend has shown them around his home town. As a result, many of my friends maintain contact with me for a long time after our time together. So as well as refreshment stops and lighthearted lunches together, a farewell dram usually rounds off our time together and sometimes the parting can be bittersweet. So it was with the lovely group of friends in this picture, taken in the magnificent Victorian surroundings of the Guildford Arms, Edinburgh. I really enjoyed being with you and hope your journey home is safe and comfortable.
