Enjoy the Loch Lomond day tour

After picking you up from your own accommodation, or a preferred city-centre location. we’ll drive directly through the city of Glasgow (curiously the motorway carves its way close to the city centre) and cross the Erskine Bridge to take us to Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond. In season we’ll have the opportunity to cross the Loch, but failing that Luss is a gorgeous wee town, though it can be quite sleepy off-season. We’ll certainly take a little time to nose around if nothing else. The cost of the cruise (not included) is £12 at present.

Glengoyne distillery is ideally situated in a gorgeous little valley and consistently holds out against amalgamation into the larger brands. As such, their processes are still exactly what time and tradition has dictated. Their tours begin at £11.50.

Suitably refreshed, we’ll hop back in the car and head for Aberfoyle for a spot of lunch ahead of a visit to Stirling Castle. Stirling is often touted as the brooch which holds Scotland together. With the benefits of modern transport infrastructure we can cross North to South in any number of places between Erskine in the West and Queensferry in the East. For most of Scotland’s history, however, whoever held Stirling dictated who controlled the Highlands. Such is why so many of the battles in Scotland’s Wars of Independence took place around the burgh. I firmly believe Stirling Castle to be the finest in Scotland for a rounded visit. Adult tickets are £15.

En-route back to Edinburgh we will see the majestic Kelpies.

All aspects of the tour are entirely at your discretion and can be edited to suit your requirements.
